Oliver D. Bernuetz's Regions - The Border Marches - The Neighbours

The NeighboursThe known human neighbours of the Amberi include :

The Black Rock Clan

This clan is allied with the Amber Clan and worships Varlanaorlanth instead of Orlanth.  They also worship some darkness deities like Argan Argar and Xiola Umbar.   The Black Rocks have been fighting the broos for decades (and slowly losing). Recently, about 15 years ago, the fighting intensified and the Black Rock clan was pushed out of the ruined stead. The land there was been poisoned by disease spirits and many of the Black Rock clan have also succumbed to diseases. They have been pushed back into less desirable real estate further up the valley.

Known Black Rock notables include :

Bjorngold Broo-slayer (Black Rock Chieftain)
Olaf Rock-fist (Black Rock Champion)
Walker (Black Rock Shaman)
Reinhart (Black Rock Law-speaker)

The Red Rock Clan

They are known to worship a similar pantheon to the Black Rock but that's about all that is known about them.

The White Sky Clan

An Orlanthi clan that has historically had dealings with the Urlanging.  (See Episode 1: Blazing the Trail Scene 4: The Road to Dragon Pass for an encounter with some clan members).

The Water People

The Water People are a remnant people.  There are around five hundred of them who practice small scale agriculture and who formerly paid tribute to the Storm Bulls at the Block.   They try very hard to keep away from the river altogether.

Most of their worship is directed to their ancestors.  They are uninterested in any other worship.  They have no government or leader but if pressed they will tell people to speak to Moros the Walker.  They used to live in fortified boltholes in the hills in order to deal with chaos influxes but recently the Amber Clan decided to resettle them at the easternmost end of the valley.  This was instead of killing, enslaving them or driving them off.
