The clan ring acts as an advisory body to the chief serving to keep him in touch with the people's mood and desires. Actually there are two rings, an outer and an inner one.  The outer ring is made up of pretty much all the notables in the clan, especially any specialists that may exist in the clan.  The inner ring is made up of individuals who hold special positions within the clan and have traditional mythical roles to fill.  These positions are usually appointed by the chief.  The Amberi follow one of the traditional ring forms which has seven seats.  These are normally Orlanth the Chief, three gods and three goddesses.  Typically these may include any of the following :

The Outer Ring is made up of Dagbjartr Haukson, Aski Askisson, Dorasa the Shepherdess, Ferena Unasdaughter, Hend the Burnt, Leikan Varmandson, Arkilla Benevasdaughter, Dorasa Ferenasdaughter, Enothea the Spider, Angorri Farnanson, Branbrig Slayer, Enerin the Kind, Enfrew Scapegoat, Ferena Unasdaughter, Bjarni Bare-Skin, Cedric the Fox, Dagbjartr Haukson, Per Rasmusson, Thorgunna Bryghildsdaughter, Orlev Ice-eyes, Salinar Mannison, Ashart Bolison, and Snorri Horse-Thief.
