Oliver D. Bernuetz's Regions of Glorantha - The Lunar Empire - The Cora Page

Back to my home page Back to regions Back to The Lunar Empire

These are my collected writings on Cora of the Two Mouths.

History

I invented Cora back in 1997 as the heroine of a story explaining where tomatoes had come from since someone on the Glorantha Digest suggested they made perfect Lunar fruit (cut them in half from the top down and you get a perfect Moon rune. I've found my first mention of the idea on the Digest but I don't think I can claim the original idea).  Anyway I wrote the story How the Tomato Came to Glamour to explain where they came from and that was the first Cora story.  Over the years I've added stories and thought about her some more.  Finally when Gloranthacon VIII was looking for submissions (hmm, good choice of word) I, err submitted a HeroWars write-up of Cora and her cult which was accepted.

Collected Stories

All of these stories could use a rewrite but that'd take time away from writing new stuff!

  1. How the Tomato Came to Glamour

  2. Cora and the Moon Cats

  3. Cora and the Sun Bull

  4. Cora Takes the Cake

  5. The Death of Cora (this appears in a revised format in the Cora of the Two Mouths write-up.

The Moon Rites Submission

Cora of the Two Mouths PDF This is the layout as it appeared in Moon Rites.  The artwork is by John Hughes who also did a wonderful job of editing my work and made some invaluable suggestions to improve the write-up.

Fresser

Fresser is an NPC from my RQ3 campaign who was the high priest of Cora's cult.  As I created him he was the actual son of Cora (and the Red Emperor but I try not to think about that) but this wasn't included in the Moon Rites write-up.   Fresser was cursed by the Emperor with a wanderlust spirit which forced him to wander Glorantha.  He kept a diary while he traveled and also sent letters back to the Empire. You can see some of Fresser's writings here.

Coreans

Besides Fresser a Corean (follower of Cora) calling herself Crystal shows up in A Good End in Badside where she just adds to Placidus Treibonus' problems.
